RAEBURN x Sustainability x Collaboration

Being one of the most celebrated names in the fashion industry, comes with great expectations, and Christopher Raeburn lives up to them. He’s the leading advocate of sustainable and intelligent fashion. This is because he strongly believes in three concepts:

  1. His ‘manifesto for change’: RÆBURN’s working revolves around reusing surplus used fabric and garments- from kites to parachutes to even military stock- to make distinctive, utilitarian and practical clothing, with a very streetwear-ish aesthetic. From his very first collection of garments made from military stock to currently making jackets from parachutes! Even their ethos revolves around the famous 4Rs- RÆMADE, RÆDUCED, RÆCYCLED and RÆBURN. Overall, you see functionality, aesthetic, fun AND sustainability.
  2. The RÆBURN brand not only believes in sustainability but also transparency. His studio, is open to the public, with access to both the workshop and atelier. This way the visitors have complete access to what goes on behind the scenes, whether it’s experiencing the craft to sometimes even having the opportunity to design their own products using offcuts present there. They also host a variety of workshops where the attendees can customize and design their own items.
  3. A strong belief in the necessity to collaborate to reach and meet sustainable goals. Collaborations with companies that have similar goals and similar drives are important for the growth of a business. RÆBURN even notes that most of the opportunities he had been given were from collaboration, so he continues to do so with other brands. This belief, coupled with the need to tastefully make use of the offcuts of his offcuts along with reject pieces of course, was what led to our collaboration with them.

We absolutely enjoyed collaborating with RÆBURN, and look forward to doing more so in the future.
