Eco-Friendly Material
We go to great lengths to ensure each product that reaches you is crafted with the utmost love and care, because nothing less than the best will do. Our philosophy is #everypiecematters and over the last 3 years we have saved over 10,000 meters of fabric from going to landfill.
Our attention to finer details can be seen through our value chain – take for instance our OFFCUT notebooks – right from the recycled paper and cardboard to the ISO certified, environment friendly adhesives used by the traditional Indian craftsmen who hand sew these limited edition beauties, to the starch and muslin bags we use for packaging. This extends to the ink we use, which uses a unique, completely natural ink made from soot. We put a lot of thought and passion into crafting each of our bespoke products, and we believe this shines through in every product of ours that makes its way to you.
A Human Touch
As human beings, we are social animals that are energized by a sense of belonging, connectedness, and community. And our team members, some of whom have been with us for almost two decades, are living embodiments of our ethos.
We firmly believe in supporting our team members in every way possible, which is why we are committed to paying more than the minimum state pay recommended by the Asia Floor Wage calculator to our artisans and support staff. We also provide benefits such as PPF, ESI, bonuses and tickets to visit their hometown every year. Our team members are the backbone of all that we are looking to build, and will support them in a transparent manner at all times.
Our work environment is a crucial key to ensure happy faces across our organization, which is why we lay a lot of emphasis on the layout of the shop floor, annual fire extinguisher and sprinkler tests, fire exits, ergonomically designer furniture along with well-lit and ventilated spaces. The year gone by has been a testing one that has left a trail of devastation in its wake, and we understand how lives and livelihoods have been uprooted and upended. What’s more, the dawn of the digital age has seen many traditional screen printers lose their livelihoods, and we wanted to champion the vibrancy of their art form by engaging them to work all our products.
The creative community has given us so much joy, and as a way of giving back, we recruit anyone that comes looking for a job, regardless of their experience. If need be, we start them out with humbler roles, like packaging boxes, and upskill them over time so that they can contribute not just productivity, but creativity to our future ideas and products.
Conscious Packaging
Generally, when you press ‘enter’ and order that latest product that has caught your fancy, it leaves a trail of environmental destruction as it makes its way to you. And you know what else happens? That excess packaging often ends up going to waste.
Each package we send your way is a reflection of our green philosophy; we source all our boxes from recycling centers, and reuse envelopes and boxes to minimize our environmental footprint.
Go beyond the surface, and you’ll find we use corn starch in our packaging, which is a renewable and fully biodegradable material. Our eye for detail even goes into the bags we use, which are water soluble and made from Cassava that we grow on our own farm.
PWe want to inspire everyone to make eco-friendly choices in all they do, and simplify recycling so that all of us can contribute to making our planet cleaner and greener than ever.
Shipping
We trust and use small family run businesses for our shipping needs, because we’d rather support local economies than large corporates that see us as just another client in a massive Rolodex. We like to believe that our support directly or indirectly impacts families, localities, and communities in a positive way, and that brings a warm glow to our heart.
The man with a van is our preferred guy to move goods from Point A to Point B, because we’d rather side with David than Goliath. By going direct, we help these movers get the full pie, rather than just a few crumbs as leftovers which, let’s be honest, no one really likes.
We see a future where mobility too is green, and are transitioning towards using electric vans for deliveries within London.
